This is the one…but tickets are limited! The Palm Springs Preservation Foundation′s Retro Martini Party fundraiser checks all the boxes: timeless architecture, perfect ambience, and great company. This year′s stunning venue is the Allan & Mildred Kramer Residence in the historic Movie Colony neighborhood. Designed by talented architectural and interior designer James McNaughton in 1963, the residence gained national exposure when it was lavishly featured in a 14-page article in the Summer 1965 issue of Architectural Digest. Fifty years later, after a sensitive restoration by interior designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard, the April 2017 issue of Architectural Digest said of the Kramer Residence, “there′s another, more playful school of modernism, one that embraced historicist elements, purely theatrical effects, and no small portion of camp to conjure a suitably sybaritic mise-en-scène for the leisure class at play.” The Kramer Residence has also been featured in a variety of magazines including Belle (Australia), Harper′s Bazaar (UAE), Elle Decoration (Spain) and on the cover of Marie Claire (Italy). Relax poolside with your martini in hand and watch the southern California sun set behind the beautiful San Jacinto Mountains. For both gentlemen and ladies this is the event to show off your most sophisticated midcentury cocktail attire. (Photo courtesy Jamie-Lee Fuoco)
